Klamath River Fish Report for 11-29-2012

Scott Caldwell
Welcome to Winter Stealhead fishing!! The storm has arrived here in Northern California bringing rain and wind but prior to today, Steelhead fishing on the upper Klamath river has been extremely productive. Over the weekend, my client landed 12 adult Steelhead in the 2 to 5 pound class and many other smaller Steelhead. The Rebel Crawdad was the plug of choice (especially for bigger fish), but bait bounced on the bottom worked well too. When the wind subsides the Klamath below Irongate will be fishable, the rain will not effect the river much in that stretch of the river. The influx of water should help stir the pot and bring up more Steelhead. Other than the high winds dont let the weather scare ya off from some excellent fishing, these fish are hungry and ready to battle. I have open days in December and into the new year for Steelhead on the river as well as Trout fishing at Lake Siskiyou and McCloud reservoir.
